The Top 10 Best Sonic Games

Sonic The Hedgehog’s speed is unparalleled, and the only thing on this earth that can outmatch it is his popularity. Few video game characters are as iconic as the blue blur, with his over three decades in the cultural zeitgeist touching every corner of pop culture along the way. From games and comics to TV and blockbuster movies, there’s a dash of Sonic everywhere. But we’re here specifically to celebrate the mainline Sonic game series and pick the very best. As for our criteria: We tried to rank these games based on historical significance, innovation, and how well these games stand the test of time. Some games, like Sonic Adventure 1 and the original Sonic the Hedgehog, are important to the Sonic series and set the foundation for both 2D and 3D Sonic games to follow. But we felt they both didn’t quite hold up as well as their sequels when judged by a modern standard, so they just missed a place on this list. But that doesn’t diminish their relevance and impact on the Sonic franchise. The 10 games on this list are the ones we feel are the best examples of both classic and modern Sonic style. So, with that said, here are our picks for the 10 best Sonic Games, as chosen by a handful of IGN’s biggest Sonic fans.

God of War Gets Free DLC, New Merch and More For 20th Anniversary – IGN Daily Fix

In today’s Daily Fix:
God of War is celebrating its 20th anniversary with free in-game content, called the Dark Odyssey collection, and IRL merch (that’s not free). The update will be available March 20th for PlayStation and PC, while real-life events and merch will be available starting March 15th. In other news, the Knights of the Old Republic remake at Saber Interactive is apparently still alive and kicking, despite the devs not having shown anything from the game outside of the announcement teaser three years ago. We’ll believe it when we see it, Saber. And finally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been rated E10+, a technically more mature rating than the usual E for Everyone rating Pokémon games usually get. What does that mean for content? More swearing? Excessive violence? Who knows!
