Former head of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shawn Layden, took aim at gaming subscriptions services. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Layden said sub services can turn game devs into ‘wage slaves’ and that those services don’t add anything to the industry. He mentioned Xbox’s Game Pass specifically, asking the rhetorical question, “is it healthy for the developer?” In kind of related news, PlayStation Plus is adding new games this month, headlined by Mortal Kombat 1 and Marvel’s Spider-Man. Some smaller, but still worthwhile, titles being added are Harold Halibut, Indika, Unicorn Overlord, and more. And we meet the final Borderlands 4 vault hunter—Amon the Forgeknight.
