Mario is Missing – Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN)

In this episode, James takes a look at yet another Mario game in the Nintendo mega franchise. The game “Mario is Missing!” was originally released on PC, Mac, NES and SNES, but at different times. It came out in 1992 for the PC and SNES, both developed by Mindscape. However, the version that James is playing is the NES version, published by Nintendo, released in 1993. It’s also the first game to feature Luigi as the main character, which wouldn’t occur again until 2001’s “Luigi’s Mansion”, and for a good reason.

In this video, Mike Matei from Cinemassacre Productions shows you how to Jump Over the Flagpole on stage 1-1 in Super Mario Bros.
Jumping the flagpole in Super Mario Bros. can be done somewhat easily on later levels. But this is a much more impressive feat due to this being accomplished on the very first level.

About the game: Super Mario Bros was published by Nintendo came out in 1985. It’s a semi-sequel to Mario Bros. which was an arcade game from 1983. The game played in the video is the North American version which came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s one of the most famous games of all time, if not THE most famous. And it’s the first in the Super Mario Bros series. You can play as either Mario or his brother Luigi. You go through platforming stages, working your way through pipes, underwater, through castles and so on, in order to rescue Princess Toadstool for the clutches of Bowser. Super Mario Bros is one of the best selling games of all time. Mario was created by Shigeru Miyamoto.

Terminator (Part 2) – Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN)

This time around the Nerd tackles the many incarnations of the Terminator sequel from the console ports of the T2: Arcade game to the NES and SNES versions based off the movie. With the successful second installment surely the games based off this couldn’t be as bad right? Well maybe if the dreaded rainbow (LJN) wasn’t the primary publisher we made have had a chance.
